Designed for harsh industrial applications, our Forklift Truck Portal is the perfect solution for scenarios where hundreds of pallet-based items need to be identified quickly and reliably without operators ever having to leave the safety of the forklift cab.

The wireless-enabled hardware works in conjunction with a standard in-cab computer, allowing the operator to pick, receive or despatch items without ever having to leave the safety of the forklift truck – speeding up operations and significantly reducing the chance of injury.

To operate, the driver interacts with the in-cab computer to select the order or manifest they are about to process and then drives the loaded forklift through the portal, where the vehicle, pallet and all items on the pallet are instantly read and processed.

How does it work?

Order/manifest selected (optional stage)

The forklift operator selects the order/manifest they are about to load/unload/move from the safety of their cab, using a standard in-cab computer.

All relevant RFID portal are activated

The Portal(s) are automatically activated and can optionally look for a RFID/RTLS tag on the forklift to confirm that the correct vehicle is passing.

Operator commences their loading/unloading

The operator commences his operation  as normal, with no delays or stoppages. Pallets are loaded/unloaded and the truck passes through the portal.

Tagged items automatically read

All RFID tags on the pallet are automatically detected by the portal, which is capable of reading hundreds of items extremely quickly.

ERP/WMS records automatically updated

Either on confirmation from the operator on completion, or automatically, the ERP/WMS is updated via the CorielEDGE middleware platform.

This product is designed to be completely modular, suitable for installation in almost any indoor or outdoor location. Portals can be located within dedicated reading areas, or can be placed at strategic dock door locations around a facility to capture items as they enter and leave the building.

In-cab / mobile control

The safest place for an operator to be is inside the forklift cab, which is why we’ve integrated the portal directly with the in-cab computer. Operators select the order or manifest they are moving and then process the order as normal. Safe, efficient and extremely quick!
