MRO Services (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul)
Coriel’s connected MRO services and technologies allows you to accurately manage your tool inventory and ensure your maintenance processes are fully compliant.
Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO Services)
For many industrial sectors, such as rail & freight and oil & gas, Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO Services) of components and assemblies is a critical part of their operations, ensuring that equipment is safe and preventing potentially catastrophic events further down the line.
The Coriel MRO solution uses established GS1 standards for the identification of industrial parts, the tracking of which enables maintenance departments to reduce time, operate more efficiently and prevent the types of mistakes that can lead to failures.
Why would you want to identify & track items for MRO?
Our MRO solutions allow you to accurately track the location, user and usage of expensive tools and equipment on and off site. Combine identification with sensors for automated maintenance checks and run pre-service checks to ensure the right component is serviced or replaced.
Having the right components in the right place at the right time
When working with complex assemblies, such as the axels of a rail carriage, being able to accurately identify the exact unit to be worked on is critical from a time and safety perspective. Potentially missing a reported unit or working on an incorrect component has huge safety implications if the faulty item then fails whilst in operation. The MRO solution from Coriel quickly and accurately confirms that the correct component is present before work commences.
Having all your tools accounted for after a maintenance session
For heavily regulated and safety critical industries such as aerospace, oil & gas and rail & freight, a real and persistent danger is faced daily by tools used in the MRO process being accidentally left behind in critical spaces. The Coriel MRO solution can be used to check out and check in tools following a maintenance session – ensuring no foreign objects are left behind.
Instant access to documentation as it’s needed
Access to accurate maintenance documentation is critical as part of the overall MRO process, with delays to repairs costing millions in downtime. The Coriel MRO solution provides a link between the physical parts and online documentation, allowing engineers to access reference diagrams, maintenance scripts and more on their mobile devices – whilst they are in front of the item to be repaired.
Automated Manufacturing Repair & Overhaul Processes
Items tagged with RFID tags can interact with lineside readers to establish what MRO activities are required, allowing them to be fed to the correct station. As an example, Coriel work with Close Brothers as part of a larger asset tracking project to establish which returnable kegs require maintenance or cleaning as they return to the main depot from customer use. Kegs that meet either condition are automatically passed to the right line within the depot.

The Alstom TrainScanner system quickly analyses the condition of critical parts on engines, carriages and freight vehicles as they drive though the portal. Coriel provide the critical identification technology for this project.
We work closely with the ITECO team to implement secure solutions that help them identify parts, manage their inventory and enable the secure exchange of digital information across their supply chain.
Coriel work extensively with the Network Rail team to provide the item-level passive RFID tags applied to their fleet of engines, carriages and freight vehicles. These identification devices are then used by partners across the world.
